After starting their season with a bang with strong back-to-back wins, the Raiders are now hoping to prevent their third loss on the trot when they host the Sharks.

While they showed fight during last week’s loss to the Cowboys, North Queensland were able to exploit their wavering confidence under the high ball to score some crucial tries.

The Sharks also fell in their Round 4 game, going down to the only undefeated team in the competition so far the Bulldogs.

However, they were hampered by injuries to some of their key players and will be hoping they can regroup and post another win at GIO Stadium which has been a happy hunting group of late, winning four of their past five games at the venue.

Team News

Raiders: Englishman Morgan Smithies makes his return from a concussion after sitting out last week's loss to the Cowboys and has come into the starting side an hour before kick-off with veteran prop Josh Papali'i going to the bench. Jed Stuart is the 18th man.

Sharks: No further changes on game day after Billy Burns came into the starting side on Wednesday for Teig Wilton (illness). Prop Tom Hazelton will line up for his first match since Round 1 after last week's comeback from a back injury was thwarted. Siosifa Talakai has been ruled out after entering the concussion protocols, while centre Kayal Iro (hamstring) has been replaced by Mawene Hiroti. The 18th man is Hohepa Puru.
