Kade Dykes will make his much-anticipated return from injury via the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup after being named at fullback for Newtown's clash with Canberra at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday.
Dykes, who notched up two NRL matches in 2022, is set to play for the first time since May last year, having undergone surgery to restore cartilage in his knee.
With Mawene Hiroti elevated to first grade this round, Dykes will slot straight back into the No.1 jersey for a Jets team shooting for five straight wins.
Dykes will line up alongside fellow NRL squad member Jesse Colquhoun, who made a successful comeback from an ACL injury at prop last week.
Cronulla's Jersey Flegg Cup team will also feature at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday afternoon, with the under-21 side aiming to bounce back from an 18-16 loss to the Bulldogs against an undefeated Canberra outfit.
Jersey Flegg kick-off is set for 1.15pm ahead of the NSW Cup fixture at 3pm.
