24-hour squad: Round 2 v Cowboys

Sharks prop Tom Hazelton will be replaced by Tuku Hau Tapuha on the bench for Saturday's Round 2 clash with the Cowboys at Queensland Country Bank Stadium due to back soreness.

Billy Burns is now the 18th man, with Mawene Hiroti also remaining in the updated 19-man squad. Jayden Berrell and Hohepa Puru have been omitted as they prepare to play for Newtown in their NSW Cup match against Newcastle.

Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon has named an unchanged squad for Saturday night's Round 2 clash with the Cowboys in Townsville.

After a solid first-up performance against defending premiers Penrith in Las Vegas, Cronulla are aiming to open their account at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

Versatile interchange forward Siosifa Talakai will celebrate his 100th match for the Sharks, having made his debut for the club in 2020, while prop Tom Hazelton will run out with his future secured after inking a new three-year deal on Monday.

Kick-off is at 5.30pm AEDT, with live TV coverage on Fox League and Kayo.
