Sharks half Braydon Trindall has extended his time with the Cronulla club in putting pen to paper on a new long term contract.

Already signed on for 2025, with the three-year contract extension Trindall is now committed to the Sharks until the end of the 2028 season.

Finding his best form late in 2024, Trindall helping to guide the Sharks to within one game of a Grand Final appearance, in signing the new deal the 25-year-old now looks forward to playing a key role in bringing success to the Sharks in the seasons ahead.

"I didn't want to go anywhere else," Trindall said.

"The club has put a lot of trust in me over the years, so I'm just looking forward to repaying them and repaying the fans.

"I just love this place; I love the club, I love the people here, I just love the whole organisation.

"I came here when I was 18, did a lot of growing and still have a lot of growing to do. I'm just looking forward to it and I couldn't see myself anywhere else."

Trindall came into his own in the back half of last season, stepping up as a key playmaker when Nicho Hynes was sidelined by injury before delivering a sensational two-try performance in the semi-final win over the Cowboys.

Joining the Sharks as an 18-year-old in 2018, Trindall was a member of the premiership winning Jersey Flegg side, a team containing the likes of Teig Wilton and Bronson Xerri, the young Cronulla side beating a Penrith squad featuring Stephen Crichton, Spencer Leniu and Mitch Kenny.

The following year success would follow him, with Trindall an integral member of a Newtown Jets team which won both NSW Cup and NRL State Championship titles.

Trindall made his NRL debut against Brisbane in round 12 of the 2020 season and has since gone on to play 71 NRL games, scoring 21 tries and kicking 84 goals. He played in 20 top grade matches in 2024, including the three Finals games, scoring 12 tries.
