A Tongan team featuring star Sharks recruit Addin Fonua-Blake and winger Sione Katoa will face New Zealand in Auckland on Saturday night for a place in the men's Pacific Cup final against Australia.
Tonga were beaten 18-0 by the Kangaroos in week one of the Pacific Championships a fortnight ago, with the Kiwis going down to Australia 22-10 last Sunday.
The winner of what's expected to be a high-octane clash at Go Media Stadium will meet Australia in the decider at CommBank Stadium on Sunday, November 10.
Aside from Katoa and former Warriors prop Fonua-Blake, who is officially a Shark as of November 1, there are several Cronulla players in action this weekend.
Talei Holmes will captain a Fiji Bulikula side containing fellow Sharks representatives Cassie Staples at fullback and Luisa Yaranamua at five-eighth against Fetu Samoa, with a berth in the next women's World Cup on the line. They will play before the aforementioned men's game at Go Media Stadium.
The inspirational Holmes will again start at lock after scoring a try and leading Fiji Bulikula to an 18-6 victory over Cook Islands Moana last weekend.
Meanwhile, Brooke Anderson has been named at hooker for the New Zealand Kiwi Ferns' encounter with the PNG Orchids in Port Moresby on Sunday.
The powerful Annessa Biddle will be rested after playing alongside Anderson in the Kiwi Ferns' last-start 14-0 defeat to the Jillaroos. Provided New Zealand are victorious, she is set to be available for the women's Pacific Cup final.
