Sharks NRLW and NSW Women’s Origin star Emma Tonegato took centre stage at the NSWRL’s annual Harmony Nines multicultural tournament last weekend, which is run in conjunction with NSW Heritage Rugby League.
Tonegato was invited by the NSWRL to be the special guest presenter for the four grand final winners after Saturday’s pool games and Semi-finals, played at Croom Regional Sports Complex in Shellharbour near Wollongong.
The 29-year-old NSW and Australian representative is already heavily involved with Sharks Have Heart activities, when her playing schedule allows.
Tonegato proved a real hit among the 22 nations and heritage communities that entered teams in the two-day Harmony Nines competition, an event that attracts more than 1200 players, by posing for multiple photos and talking with fans and supporters.
She also addressed the crowd before presenting Player of the Match medals and then the trophies to representatives from the four winning teams.
