Jets Team List - Grand Final v Bears

It's a grand final 81 years in the making as the Newtown Jets face off against the North Sydney Bears for the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup title at CommBank Stadium on Sunday.

The two foundation clubs met in a senior decider for the first and only time – until now – more than eight decades ago when the Jets prevailed 34-7 to win the 1943 NSWRFL competition.

While they're no longer in the top-flight premiership, the Jets and Bears still share a famous rivalry. They've already staged several absorbing battles this season, with North Sydney triumphing 18-16 in week two of the finals to earn a week off and a direct pass to this weekend's blockbuster clash.

That loss forced the Jets to go the long way to the grand final, hanging tough to come from behind and defeat the Raiders 18-16 last Saturday.

Captained by second-rower Billy Burns and with a host of other Sharks NRL squad members combining to propel the Bluebags towards glory, the Jets are well placed to earn their first NSW Cup premiership since 2019.

Kick-off is at 3pm. CLICK HERE to secure a ticket from as little as $5. You can also catch the action live on 9Now and NSWRL TV.
