Jets Team List - Preliminary Final v Raiders

They were narrowly denied a place in the NSW Cup grand final last week, but the Jets have another golden chance to reach the decider when they face the Raiders at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday.

Newtown fell agonisingly short in an 18-16 defeat to minor premiers North Sydney on Sunday, with goal-kicking proving the difference in a tense clash.

But there's no time to dwell on the defeat, with the Jets preparing to tackle a Raiders team they comfortably beat in week one of the finals.

George Ndaira's Newtown side scored six tries to three against Canberra less than a fortnight ago, booting clear after mounting an imposing 18-0 half-time lead.

The teams drew 28-all when they met in Round 4, while the Raiders claimed a 42-12 victory at home in Round 8 in a match where the Jets were struck by injuries.

A host of Sharks NRL squad members are again set to propel Newtown forward, including Liam Ison, Sam Stonestreet, Tom Rodwell, Chris Vea'ila, Niwhai Puru, Tuku Hau Tapuha, Jayden Berrell and Billy Burns.

Kick-off at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday is at 1pm following the Jersey Flegg Cup preliminary final between the Sharks and Raiders (11am start).

Entry is $10 (no student concession or seniors card discounts). People 12 years and under and aged pension card holders will get into the ground for free.

Street parking is available nearby on Mary Street, Glover Street and along the waterfront on Frazer Street. It's advised to arrive early to ensure you find a spot.
