Jets Team List - Finals Week 1

After narrowly missing out on the minor premiership, the Jets can win through to a major semi-final when they tackle the Raiders in week one of the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup playoffs on Saturday.

While Newtown's second-place finish will afford them another chance if they lose this weekend at Leichhardt Oval, victory would pit them against the top-ranked Bears for a spot in the grand final.

The Jets staved off the fast-finishing Warriors to triumph 39-36 on Saturday, ending the regular season just a solitary competition point behind North Sydney.

In a boost for the Bluebags, strike winger Sam Stonestreet is set to play after spending three of the past four weeks in the NRL. Ronaldo Mulitalo's return from injury meant Stonestreet wasn't included in Cronulla's starting team to face Manly on Sunday.

Fellow Sharks squad members including Tuku Hau Tapuha, Jayden Berrell, Niwhai Puru, Liam Ison, Billy Burns, Chris Vea'ila and Tom Rodwell are also set to play major roles as Newtown aim to defeat Canberra for the first time this season.

The first meeting between the clubs in Round 4 resulted in a 28-all draw, while the Raiders – captained by Niwhai's brother Hohepa Puru – were decisive 42-12 victors in the return match in Round 8.

Kick-off is scheduled for 5pm following Cronulla's Jersey Flegg elimination final clash with the Knights.
