Jersey Flegg Team List - Finals Week 1

The Jersey Flegg Sharks will look to continue their recent winning run when they take on the Newcastle Knights in an elimination finals clash on Saturday.

After a slow start to their 2024 season the Sharks managed seven consecutive victories and nine wins from 10 matches in the run home, with their most recent triumph against the New Zealand Warriors last Saturday night sealing a place in the five-team finals series.

In what was an incredible turnaround, the Sharks racked up 50 points in five of six games, before holding their nerve to win 20-4 against a committed New Zealand team in the last round clash to book their place in the Flegg finals.

The Sharks have played the Knights on two occasions this season, winning both of those encounters, 40-16 and 30-26, with the two matches played in Newcastle.

The Knights finished the regular season in fourth position, with the Jersey Flegg finals format matching teams 4 v 5 and 2 v 3 while the minor premiers in the Canberra Raiders enjoy a week off.

The winner of the Sharks v Knights match will take on the loser of the Bulldogs v Panthers game.

The Sharks v Knights Jersey Flegg elimination final is scheduled for a 3.00pm kick off at Leichhardt Oval, with a Knock On Effect NSW Cup qualifying final between the Newtown Jets and Canberra Raiders to follow at 5.00pm.
