Sharks recognised for off-field work in NRL/RLPA awards

Three Sharks have been recognised by the NRL and RLPA for their outstanding off-field endeavours. NRLW captain Tiana Penitani has been chosen in the 2024 Academic Team of the Year for her continual commitment to personal study, including recently becoming a qualified reformer Pilates instructor. She has also provided academic support to Cronulla’s junior Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale Cup players. Meanwhile, Quincy Dodd and Nicho Hynes are finalists for the prestigious Indigenous Leadership & Excellence Award, with the winner to be announced at a special ceremony at Homebush on Wednesday, August 21. Pippa Stevenson, the club’s NRLW & Female Pathways Wellbeing & Education Coordinator, revealed the good news in front of the NRLW squad. Watch the video above.
