Teenage fullback Liam Ison will become Shark #561 against the Cowboys on Saturday night after being named to make his NRL debut as a replacement for the suspended Will Kennedy.

The 19-year-old speedster is the only new face in a starting side that defeated the Wests Tigers in Round 19 leading into last weekend's bye. The St Marys Saints junior will don the No.1 jersey at Townsville's Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

Elsewhere, Siosifa Talakai is set to return from suspension on the bench, a role he's filled capably this season with an ability to play in the middle or on an edge.

Forward Jack Williams is listed on the extended interchange as he moves towards a comeback from a wrist sprain, while the versatile Billy Burns is 18th man.

Kick-off on Saturday is at 5.30pm, with coverage on Foxtel and Kayo.
