After an impressive trial against the Roosters, Sharks coach Tony Herman has named the same 17 to host the Cowboys in Saturday's season-opening clash at PointsBet Stadium.

New signing Georgia Hannaway, an ex-rugby sevens gun who recently shone for Norths Devils in the BMD Premiership, is set to make her NRLW debut off the bench. A crafty playmaker with a strong running game, the 23-year-old adds X-factor.

It's otherwise a familiar line-up, with Herman keen to continue fostering the connections built in last year's inaugural campaign.

Cronulla dominated the first half of their pre-season hit-out against the star-studded Roosters, ultimately playing out a promising 20-all draw.

With the benefit of a home crowd, they'll aim to start the season on a high against a North Queensland side they defeated 40-12 in their 2023 encounter.
