Jersey Flegg Team List - Round 19

Four wins from their past five games have powered the Jersey Flegg Sharks into eighth spot ahead of a stern test against the formidable Bulldogs at PointsBet Stadium on Friday night.

After defeating Wests Tigers 20-16 at Henson Park on Saturday, Cronulla's under 21s are six points adrift of the fifth-placed Knights. However, with a game in hand due to a washout, the Sharks remain a hope of storming into playoff contention.

Cronulla led 10-6 at halftime against the Tigers, with rookie fullback Adrian Sandy and five-eighth Taj Ford scoring to put the visitors in a favourable position.

While the Tigers struck first in the second half to poke their noses in front, the Sharks responded with tries to John-Paul Donevski and Max McCarthy. It was enough to seal the win despite the hosts crossing again in the 63rd minute.

Cronulla will get a gauge on how much they've improved against Canterbury given they went down 34-8 when the teams met in Round 2 this season.

The Bulldogs are on a six-match winning run and sit in second position.

Friday's match will be played as a curtain-raiser to the Sharks-Tigers NRL game. The Jersey Flegg action will kick off at 5.45pm, 15 minutes after gates open.
