HNWP Team List - Round 2

After an impressive first-up win over the Tigers, the Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership Sharks are back in action at PointsBet Stadium on Sunday against the Wentworthville Magpies.

Five-eighth Nakia Davis-Welsh's double propelled Cronulla to a 24-18 victory at Henson Park, however the Sharks will be without the NRLW player this week.

The Magpies also began their campaign on a positive note, making a statement with seven tries in a 36-0 triumph against St George.

The Sharks ran in five tries in a strong maiden display under new coach Rob Capizzi, beginning with a bang when NRLW development player Joy Levy scored in the first minute. Davis-Welsh touched down to give the Sharks a 10-4 halftime lead before Jaydika Tafua and Roisin Crowe crossed the line after the break.

Davis-Welsh then went over again for what ultimately proved the winning try as the Sharks held on despite the Tigers scoring twice in the final 10 minutes.

With the Harvey Norman competition acting as a reserve grade competition, the Sharks are getting miles into the legs of NRLW training squad members like centre Levy, second-rower Tafua and lock Stephanie Faulkner.

Excitingly, ex-Black Ferns rugby union star Pia Tapsell, a hard-running forward, will pull on a Sharks jersey for the first time after being named on the bench.

See the two teams for Sunday's match below, with kick-off at 11am. Cronulla's NRLW squad will face the Roosters in a trial at the same venue later in the day.
