Sharks second-rower Teig Wilton has been sidelined by an AC joint injury, with his return-to-play timeframe yet to be confirmed.
Wilton, who captained Cronulla for the first time last round, will miss Saturday night's clash with the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium due to the shoulder complaint.
Meanwhile, promising front-rower Max Bradbury will undergo surgery on Wednesday after suffering a season-ending ACL injury. Part of the NRL training squad, the 20-year-old has played Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup this season.
On a positive note, talented forward Jesse Colquhoun made a successful comeback from a foot injury in Newtown's reserve-grade win over the Eels last week. In the same game, hooker Jayden Berrell returned from an elbow issue.
The 22-year-old Colquhoun, who has played 10 NRL games, hadn't taken the field since breaking his fourth metatarsal in February's trial against the Bulldogs.
