After clawing their way back into the top five with consecutive wins, the Jets will hope to keep soaring when they meet the Knights in Round 11 of the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup on Sunday.
The Sharks' feeder team are coming off a thrilling 22-16 victory over the Sea Eagles in Round 10, headlined by a hat-trick to fullback Kade Dykes.
It marked Newtown's fourth win of the season and the first time they'd secured back-to-back triumphs, keeping them within striking distance of the leading sides.
With Dykes out this week, Liam Ison will wear the No.1 jersey.
Newcastle, meanwhile, sit in ninth place having lost their past two games.
Sunday's match will be played at North Sydney Oval as part of a NSW Cup Magic Round, with all sides playing at the venue. Kick-off is at 1pm.
