Jets Team List - Round 1

The Newtown Jets, the Sharks partner club in the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup, face a tough first-up assignment when they play the New Zealand Warriors in a round one match at Go Media Stadium in Auckland on Friday.

With a team featuring a sprinkling of Sharks NRL contracted players, along with former Cronulla NRL squad members Kurt Dillon and Bill Magoulias, the Jets will be aiming to improve on a 2023 season which saw them finish sixth in narrowly missing a place in the finals.

Sharks young guns including Sam Stonestreet, Niwhai Puru, 2023 Jersey Flegg graduates Sam Healey and Blake Hosking, along with the experienced Billy Burns, Jayden Berrell and Mawene Hiroti, have been named in the Jets line up for their round one clash.

The Jets will again be coached by George Ndaira, with their season opener to be played as the curtain-raiser to the Sharks v Warriors NRL match which is set to kick off at the same venue later that night.

The Jets v Warriors NSW Cup match is scheduled for a 5.15pm kick off (local time – 3.15pm Sydney time).
