The 2024 NRL and NRLW draws have been released, with the Sharks men to start their season across the ditch against the Warriors before hosting the Bulldogs in round two on March 15.
As Craig Fitzgibbon’s troops look to build on consecutive finals appearances, an action-packed opening month will also see them face Wests Tigers (away) and the Raiders (home) leading into an early bye.
With 10 exciting NRL games at PointsBet Stadium, including four family-friendly Sunday afternoon fixtures and three Saturday night blockbusters, the support of Sharks members and fans will play a vital role in propelling the team towards another successful campaign.
The boys will also ‘host’ the Roosters in a bumper Magic Round clash (round 11) at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium and return to the club’s home away from home at C.ex Coffs International Stadium on the Coffs Coast to tackle the Titans (round 18).
Home highlights include the local derby against the Dragons (round nine), a date with three-time defending premiers Penrith (round 12 – Indigenous Round), the inaugural visit to the Sutherland Shire for Wayne Bennett’s Dolphins (round 15 – Beanie for Brain Cancer Round) and a Women in League celebration against the Rabbitohs (round 22).
Cronulla will travel 15,231km next year – the average for all 17 teams being 23,561km – and benefit from having 18 turnarounds of seven-plus days, three six-day turnarounds and two five-day turnarounds.
After freshening up in round five, the Sharks will also enjoy byes in rounds 16 and 20.
Meanwhile, the NRLW team will continue the momentum from their promising maiden season when they kick off against the Cowboys at home on July 27 – the same date the men take on North Queensland in Townsville.
The women have four games at PointsBet Stadium, with their round-four match against the Knights preceding the NRL side’s clash with the Novocastrians in what’s sure to be a massive Sunday afternoon.
Concluding the home NRLW schedule are games against the Roosters (round seven) – with the NRL team playing away at Manly on the same day - and Wests Tigers (round nine).
Memberships go on sale to the public tomorrow (Tuesday, November 14), with all remaining seats to be chosen at time of purchase.
