The Sharks will be without fullback Will Kennedy for an extended period after scans revealed a grade two hamstring strain.
Kennedy suffered the injury in the first five minutes of the match against the Panthers last Friday night, with a recovery period of approximately six to eight weeks.
The injury to Kennedy is a further blow to a Cronulla team already without Dale Finucane and Teig Wilton, with the two Sharks forwards ruled out for the remainder of the 2023 season.
Finucane underwent surgery for a ruptured biceps, with Wilton also requiring knee surgery to repair a meniscus injury.
In other Sharks injury news, Ronaldo Mulitalo has been named to return to the field this weekend, while Oregon Kaufusi will miss the game against Souths and the trip to Perth after breaking a finger in the Panthers game last Saturday night.
