About to enter their first season in the NRLW competition, while also fielding Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership, Tarsha Gale and Lisa Fiaola Cup teams in 20223, the Sharks are passionate in the development of the Women's game and placing a considerable focus on their female pathway programs.
While the HNWP Sharks failed to qualify for the four-team Finals series they were again competitive throughout the season following on from a Grand Final appearance the year before, with the under 19 Tarsha Gale and under 17 Lisa Fiaola teams unearthing a number of potential stars of the future during the recently completed 2023 seasons.
So as the first step for many and in further enhancing and building on their female pathways, while continuing to identify talented athletes, the Sharks will be conducting Winter Development programs for girls ranging from under 13’s to under 18’s.
The Sharks are accepting applications now from those interested in being involved.
The Winter Academy squads will be assembled in under 13’s/14’s and under 15’s/16’s, for players registered within the local Cronulla-Sutherland Junior League, along with an under 17’s/18’s squad which is open to all applicants.
League Tag players are welcome to apply.
Applications will close on Friday, May 12, with a trial to be held on Monday, May 22, following which Academy squads will be selected.
Trial details will be sent to successful applicants with venue, time and what players will be required to bring on the day.
Successful applicants and trialists will then be notified via email with information relating to subsequent Academy training schedules and requirements.

Women's Academy Staff
The Sharks are also encouraging applications from staff looking to be a part of the Club’s Female Academy and Pathways program.
Applications are being accepted for Coaches, Sports Trainers, Physiotherapists, Equipment Coordinators, Strength & Conditioning coaches, and Team Managers.
