Double-header to kick start season for NRLW Sharks

The NRL has today released the draw for the 2023 NRLW season, the Sharks first in the elite level women’s competition.

The draw features four games at PointsBet Stadium, our season-opener on Sunday, July 23 as the first game of a Sharks double header, with a round 21 NRL clash against the Manly Sea Eagles to follow.

Also scheduled on the Sharks 2023 NRLW draw are stand-alone PointsBet Stadium home games against the Titans, Roosters and Dragons, two trips to Townsville to play the Broncos and Cowboys, as well as away matches with the Tigers, Knights and Eels.

With more player signings yet to be announced, the Sharks have begun to build our 2023 squad with highly rated players Quincy Dodd, Emma Tonegato, Holli Wheeler and Jada Taylor committing to be a part of the Club’s inaugural season in the NRLW competition.

All NRLW games during the nine-round season will be televised on Channel 9 and Fox Sports, with the Sharks to be joined in their first season by three more new teams in the Canberra Raiders, North Queensland Cowboys and Wests Tigers.

The NRLW competition will kick off on Saturday, July 22 with a Queensland derby clash between Gold Coast Titans and competition newcomers North Queensland Cowboys, followed by Premiers the Newcastle Knights taking on St George Illawarra Dragons at McDonald Jones Stadium.

The new NRLW Premiership will feature nine standalone double headers in all Club markets (Townsville, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra), as well as 18 Club double headers (NRLW matches before NRL fixtures). V Raiders (Double Header) Sunday 23 July, 1:50pm
