The Sharks will be aiming to back up their spirited victory over the Roosters when they travel across town to Homebush to take on the Bulldogs in a round 8 match up.

In their a performance that was arguably their best defensive effort so far in 2023, the Sharks held the Roosters to just two tries, with some late attacking brilliance getting the Cronulla side home 22-12.

Against a Bulldogs team battling a lengthening injury toll, Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon will be look for a similar defensive commitment in the game scheduled for a 5.30pm kick off at Accor Stadium on Saturday.

Predictably Fitzgibbon has named the same 17-man team to tackle the Bulldogs, with the only change seeing Oregon Kaufusi named in jersey 8, Royce Hunt in 16. In a late alteration last weekend, Kaufusi started the game against the Roosters and Hunt reverted back to the bench.

Dale Finucane is still two more weeks away from a return after being handed a three-match suspension and Toby Rudolf is continuing what will be a lengthy recovery period after undergoing toe/foot surgery.
