The Matthews Cup Sharks face a must-win match this weekend, while the SG Ball team are out of contention and will be playing for pride in round 9 matches to be held at the Sharks Academy Fields at Cronulla High School on Saturday.
After sneaking by the Dragons last week, the under-17 Sharks sit in seventh position, one point outside the top six and one point behind this weekend’s rivals the Illawarra Steelers, making the equation simple, with a win in their last round match to see them qualify for the upcoming Matthews Cup Finals.
In the SG Ball, a loss to the Dragons officially ended the Sharks Finals aspirations, with their last game of the season against the Steelers an opportunity to finish their 2023 campaign on a positive note.
The two male junior reo matches will kick off at 12 noon and 1.45pm, following a round 9 Tarsha Gale match which gets underway at 10.30am.
