The Sharks will be keen to put the disappointment of their round one loss behind them when they travel to CommBank Stadium to face the Eels.
Beaten 27-18 by the Rabbitohs at PointsBet Stadium last Saturday night, the Sharks face an Eels side also looking to post their first win of the 2023 season in a match which kicks off at 6.00pm on Friday night.
Coach Craig Fitzgibbon has named a Cronulla side without Wade Graham who has a scheduled appearance with the NRL judiciary tonight.
In other team news, while Jack Williams has passed his concussion protocols since failing a HIA on Saturday night, however with the short turn around to Friday’s game the hard running forward will be forced to sit out this weekend’s clash.
In his place, Royce Hunt has been included on the Sharks interchange bench, the Samoan international to play his first game of the 2023 season after missing round one with injury.
In the Sharks halves, Brayden Trindall has retained his place at half back, with Nicho Hynes not yet right with his calf issue. Trindall was amongst the Sharks best in the loss to Souths.
And Connor Tracey, after playing fullback in the NSW Cup for the Newtown Jets last weekend, has been named in jersey 17 as the Sharks utility option.
The Sharks and Eels round two match is scheduled for a 6.00pm kick-off at CommBank Stadium on Friday night.
