It took them a while to get going, but once they did there was no stopping the Newtown Jets who continued their outstanding 2022 season with a hard fought 20-14 victory over the North Sydney Bears last weekend.
The Jets trailed 8-0 at half time but clicked into gear after the break, with a Kade Dykes try 10-minutes from full time sealing the result and seeing the Jets remain in the top spot on the Knock On Effect NSW Cup ladder.
This week the jets take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs in around 20 clash, scheduled for a 3.00pm kick-off at Henson Park on Saturday. The two teams have met once in 2022, with Souths coming out on top by a score line of 32-10.
With the Sharks squad in relatively good health, a number of NRL contracted players return to play for the Jets, with the likes of Dykes, Tom Hazelton and Jayden Berrell amongst those in strong form in recent weeks.
The Jets v Rabbitohs game features on the Beer, Food and Footy Festival Day at Henson Park, with a big crowd expected.
