Jersey Flegg Team List – Round 17

It was a well-earned victory last weekend when the Jersey Flegg Sharks held on to beat the Bulldogs, one which has kept the young Cronulla side well in the hunt for one of the five Finals places on offer in the under-21 competition.

The Sharks built up a nice lead against the Bulldogs only to be forced to defend grimly late in the contest to secure the 26-24 win however now heading into the business end of the season will be looking for a strong follow-up performance when they host the Victorian Thunderbolts at PointsBet Stadium on Thursday.

The Flegg Sharks have already played the Thunderbolts on one previous occasion in 2022, the Cronulla team sneaking home 22-20 in the round 11 match played at Casey Fields in Melbourne.

For the Sharks young front rower Lachlan Crouch has been retained after a solid first up effort, the Club’s SG Ball Player of the Year getting through a mountain of work in his debut appearance in the Flegg competition.

While the Sharks come into the round 17 match on the back of a win, the Thunderbolts were soundly beaten by 44-22 by the Manly Sea Eagles at their most recent outing.

The Sharks v Victoria match is scheduled for a 5.35pm kick-off at PointsBet Stadium as the curtain-raiser to the Sharks v Storm NRL clash.
