Tarsha Sharks break drought in beating the Bears

The Tarsha Gale Sharks have broken their drought with a first win of 2022 and ironically it came during a torrential down pour as Sydney's wet weather continued.

After surviving a first half with the heavens opening and rain tumbling, three tries in the second period propelled the Sharks to a 16-0 triumph and their first win of the season.

With the match scoreless at half time, improved conditions allowed for more expansive football after the break, winger Esther Kautoga crossing in the 34th minute to give the Sharks a 4-0 advantage.

Soon after it was Chloe Boston's turn to score and when Brooke Elliott converted it was 10-0 Sharks and in the conditions it was also going to be a big task for the Bears to bounce back.

Tayla Curtis scored five minutes from time, Elliott converting, the 16-0 victory encouragement for a Sharks side who had been competitive through the first three rounds without being able to notch a victory.

Next up for the Tarsha Sharks is a game against the Panthers at PoinstBet Stadium next Saturday.
