The Sharks can announce the signing of promising Eels forward Oregon Kaufusi on a two-year deal commencing in 2023.
New Zealand-born and of Tongan heritage, Kaufusi will remain at the Parramatta club for the 2022 season, before joining the Sharks for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Having come through Hills Sports High School, Wentworthville junior league club and the Eels junior representative system, Kaufusi debuted in the NRL in a round 23 match in 2018.
He has since played 44 NRL games, 21 during the 2021 season.
A highly rated junior, Kaufusi represented NSW in the under 16’s, 18’s and 20’s and is a former Australian Schoolboy.
Just 22 years of age and at an imposing 188cm and 114kgs, Kaufusi is aggressive and hard running and is set to add plenty of size and depth to the Sharks forward pack from 2023.
