Saturday at Henson Park may just be crunch time for the Newtown Jets despite their being 11 rounds remaining in the 2021 season.
With the Knock On Effect NSW Cup finals featuring just five teams in 2021, the Jets are now need to string some wins together, with the task stepping up a notch this weekend when they host the ladder-leading Panthers in a round 14 match.
A Jets team featuring a handful of Sharks contracted players went down by 20-10 to the Raiders last weekend and with the Cronulla NRL squad seeing a number of their injured brigade return to the field, Newtown’s stocks are again likely to be bolstered by the full-timers for the Panthers clash.
While the Jets come into the game on the back of the Bulldogs loss, the Panthers were very impressive at their last start, beating the second-placed Wests Magpies by 40-14 in their round 13 match.
The game at Henson Park on Saturday is scheduled for a 3.00pm kick off.
