The Sharks have a significant change to their team to play the Bulldogs, with five eighth Matt Moylan ruled out with a minor quadriceps strain.

The injury to Moylan occurred at Wednesday's training session and when he failed to complete the Captain's run on Friday, the decision was made this morning to rule him out of tonight's game.

While losing a player of Moylan's calibre is a blow, the Sharks will now welcome Shaun Johnson back into the starting side for what will be his first game of the 2021 season.

Johnson tore his Achilles tendon late in the 2021 season and after a long rehabilitation process has been declared fit to return. He will slot into his familiar position in the Sharks halves alongside Chad Townsend.

Braydon Trindall comes into the 17-man squad and onto the Sharks interchange bench.

Otherwise the Sharks side to play the Bulldogs is unchanged, with Josh Dugan also back on deck after missing last week's game against Newcastle due to concussion issues.

The Sharks and Bulldogs match is scheduled for a 5.30pm kick off at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.
