Tarsha Sharks head into finals on last round loss

The Tarsha Gale Sharks will head into the competition finals on the back of a last round loss to the Parramatta Eels. 

With their spot in the top six already confirmed prior to today's game, the Sharks had an opportunity to to finish the regular season on a positive note, however the Eels proved too good in the match played at PointsBet Stadium, running out 30-12 winners. 

The Sharks finished  with three wins and five losses to end their season in sixth position. 

The game was an uphill battle from the start for the Cronulla girls, the big a physical Eels side crossing for four first half tries to lead 20-0 at the break. 

That advantage pushed out further with a converted try shortly after the break, before Ella Barker posted first points for the Sharks with a 50th minute four pointer. 

Sophia Griffin added the extra two to make it 26-6 and the Sharks would then edge closer, Erika-May Kavana touching down, with the conversion again successful the score line became a more respectable 26-12. 

The Parramatta team would however cap off the victory with a try two minutes from full time to round out the scoring. 

The Sharks team will now await to find out their finals opponents in what will be a sudden death match in the six-team playoff format.
