The NSWRL has postponed round nine junior representative fixtures due to today’s heavy rain and the prediction of more to come over the next three days.
Games in the Tarsha Gale Cup, Matthews Cup and SG Ball have been postponed and will now be played on the weekend of 10-11 April, pushing back Semi-Finals to commence the following weekend on 17-18 April.
The Grand Final for all three competitions will now be held on May 1 at a venue to be confirmed.
The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup match between the Newtown Jets and Newcastle Knights will be played but has been shifted to Sunday.
The Jets and Knights were to play as the curtain-raiser to the Newcastle v Warriors match at Central Coast Stadium on Friday, with that game moved to Cessnock Sports Ground on Sunday, kicking off at 2pm.
At this stage, the Sharks v Victorian Thunderbolts clash in the Jersey Flegg competition will still go ahead, however the NSWRL and NRL and looking at a potential venue change. More information will be made available once decisions have been made.
Due to the junior reps being postponed, the Sharks have also cancelled games for their 16s and 18s Academy, set down for Saturday, with all clubs involved to get together to determine whether rescheduling is possible.
Round two of the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership has also been cancelled, with the Sharks having been drawn to play Mounties on Monday night. There is no plan to reply round two will all matches now cancelled.
