2021 Skills Development Program

Former Sharks legend Brett Kimmorley and Kiwi Silver Ferns representative Kiana Takairangi will be members of the coaching staff for the upcoming Sharks Skills Development Program (SDP), which is now accepting enrolments for 2021.

Entering its sixth year, the program will be hosted at Pointsbet Stadium in a move which allows participants to experience the same training environment and facilities as the Sharks NRL squad.

Kimmorley and Takairangi, who will again turn out for the Sharks Harvey Norman’s Women’s team in 2021, will work alongside an array of coaches from the Sharks Academy program as fulltime SDP coaches, giving participants the opportunity to access quality coaching throughout the course of the program.

The SDP has been designed by Cronulla Sharks Academy and Talent Identification Manager Glenn Brailey, who currently takes responsibility for the entire Sharks Junior Reps Program and has been directly involved with the coaching of the Harold Matthews Cup, Winter Academy and Development squads.

Brailey’s coaching experience includes nine years at the Cronulla Club and as a Head Coach of the Samoa Women’s national squad and the Sharks Harvey Norman Women’s team.

The program runs for six sessions over six weeks and is the perfect preparation for the upcoming Junior League season, having been updated with an intensive focus on tackling technique, safe body positioning and core skills.

It is ideal for both beginners as well as experienced players, both boys and girls aged between 5 and 12, who are looking to further enhance their skill development.

The Sharks are committed to providing this professional program to all juniors seeking to improve their Rugby League skills and techniques, firm in the belief a safe and correct tackling technique is an important aspect of Junior Rugby league.

Not only does the program ensure each participant is taught effective techniques, players will also be analysed by the collection of high level coaches to guarantee the outcomes of the program are being achieved.

See below more information including the cost of the program, key development areas, as well as session dates and times.

Confirming all sessions will be held at PointsBet Stadium, 461 Captain Cook Drive, Woolooware.
