An important message to Sharks Members

To our valued 2020 Sharks Members,
Following NRL commission meetings, phone hook ups with the 16 NRL clubs and the decisions which have come from those discussions, it has been announced that round two matches will now be played in closed stadiums.

Unfortunately that means we cannot accommodate you at Netstrata Stadium for our match against the Melbourne Storm next Saturday night.

This decision has largely come about due to Federal Government advice concerning public health and safety, with mass gatherings of more than 500 people cancelled until further notice.

As a result, all Round Two NRL Premiership matches will be played behind closed doors.

Under this closed doors policy, closed doors will be exactly that, with no spectators allowed and no priority access up to the that communicated number of 500 people.

In relation to potential refunds or compensation, the Sharks ask for patience and understanding. There is an central committee working on behalf of the NRL to consider all 16 Clubs and whilst the situation is still very fluid they completely understand the importance to look after the games' members.

The complexities of Memberships are different for every club and the processes and policies need to be established by all to ensure, as a game, there is a unified response.

We are working with the NRL and all decisions have been put on hold, however the Sharks will continue to provide information when if becomes available as we work towards the best possible outcome for you our Members while we navigate this unprecedented situation.

We value your ongoing support and understanding as we await this further information and as you would appreciate our membership team will be unable to provide anything further over and above what has already been communicated by us and by the NRL.

The Sharks will also continue to work closely with Ticketek and the NRL in regards to refunding tickets for the games affected.

If you have missed some of the news dispensed by the NRL earlier today, CLICK HERE for an NRL.com article with an update of the situation across the game.

Also available on the Sharks website is the full press conference from earlier today featuring NRL officials Peter V'landys and Todd Greenberg.

When we have further information we will endeavour to communicate at our earliest convenience.
