Three players from the Sharks Harvey Norman Women's Premiership team have been selected in the NSW State of Origin squad to play Queensland.
Corban McGregor, Maddie Studdon and Tiana Penitani have been included in the team to tackle the Maroons at North Sydney Oval on Friday, June 21.
The trio have been outstanding for the Sharks through the first half of the NSWRL season and also impressed at the recent interstate carnival held in Queensland, with Penitani named player of the series.
New coach Andrew Patmore has named Kezie Apps to captain the side which includes seven debutants.
Kylie Hilder, at 43 years of age, also returns for the Blues after a 10-year absence from NSW representative honors.
The interstate match was played under the Origin banner for the first time in 2018, with NSW claiming honours for the past three successive years.
This year an inaugural Under-18 Women’s Origin match will be played as part of a double-header with the (open) women’s game at North Sydney Oval.
