At what's traditionally been an unhappy hunting ground the Sharks came away with just their second win at WIN Stadium in the past 30 years on Sunday afternoon.
Staking their claim to the Monty Porter Cup, the all-important two competition points and bragging rights over their local rivals in the first leg of the derby, the boys in the black, white and blue cemented their place inside the top eight with a solid victory.
A hat-trick to young centre Bronson Xerri, an exciting comeback from Matt Moylan after seven weeks on the sideline and another complete performance from half back Chad Townsend helped guide the Sharks to victory.
The bench rotation was once again on song for the Cronulla side, with Bukuya, Williams and Hamlin-Uele all impacting the game with solid stints in both attack and defence.
Kurt Capewell showed just how versatile a player he is, moving from the forwards to the wing seamlessly after Josh Dugan was ruled out following a nasty head clash, almost pulling off a stunning acrobatic finish but was bungled into touch.
The win sees the Sharks go into the bye inside the top eight and with key personnel set to return over the next few weeks, looking ready to mount a challenge towards a place in the finals.
