Sharks fans have spoken, with young gun Briton Nikora voted as the Sharks.com.au Fan Poll Man of the Match from the game against the Panthers last Thursday night.
A revelation in the top grade since making his debut in round one, Nikora was a constant threat on the Sharks right hand side, two line breaks in the second half, one in setting up a try for Chad Townsend, made him an overwhelming choice as his team’s best in the win over Penrith.
Nikora’s efforts also came after suffering a back injury in the closing moments of the first half, making his performance in the second 40 minutes even more meritorious.
Shaun Johnson, another of the Sharks Kiwi contingent, came in second in the fan voting from the Panthers game after what was perhaps his best outing in Cronulla colours.
Johnson found his running game after the half time break and had the opposition guessing with every touch, looking dangerous in attack and providing plenty of space for his outside men to work their magic.
To round out the top three, Sharks fans voted for the ultra-consistent Townsend, who narrowly edged out another of the young stars in Bronson Xerri to claim the one point.
