The Newtown Jets make a rare appearance at Shark Park on Saturday when they host Mounties in a round two Canterbury Cup clash on Saturday.
Accustomed to playing at their spiritual home of Henson Park, the match will give Sharks fans a glimpse of some of the exciting new talent coming through the ranks, while also providing the Jets with an opportunity to rebound after a disappointing round one loss.
The Jets were their own worst enemies in a 24-4 loss to the Knights in round one, although there were enough good signs to indicate they can quickly bounce back in Saturday's match with Mounties.
Again the Jets will field a side featuring a large contingent of full-time Sharks contracted players, many who will be keen to impress with John Morris and his NRL coaching team likely to be watching on.
Much interest will surround the performances of young gun Bronson Xerri, fullback Will Kennedy and emerging half back talent Braydon Trindall.
The match between the Jets and Mounties, who are the Canterbury Cup feeder club of the Canberra Raiders, is scheduled to get underway at 12.45pm.
