The Cronulla Sharks are inviting talented young dancers to be a part of the new 67 Crew Academy, an NRL season long program.
To commence in February 2019, the Sharks 67 Crew Academy is designed to produce the next generation of professional dancers by learning from the Cronulla Sharks Mermaids choreographer/director Jacqueline Elliott, an established industry professional with impressive and extensive experience in the dance industry.
As well as working with dance squads for sports teams in the US, with her choreography being performed in the NBA and across other sporting teams in the US, Elliott has guided the Sharks Mermaids in recent years while also producing and choreographing Illawarra Hawks game days in the Australian Basketball League.
The program will commence on the Thursday, February 14, running from 4:30pm until 6:30pm, with the pre-season featuring a four-week training period prior to the start of the NRL season in focussing on skill and technique development, ensuring the 67 Crew Academy dancers are confident and ready to perform on game days.
The remaining sessions will align with the Sharks NRL home game schedule.
The 67 Crew Academy will have the exciting opportunity to perform at a minimum of 6 NRL game days throughout the 2019 season, with the nominated performance weeks to include an additional session for participants to learn new routines.
All rehearsals and training sessions will be held at Cronulla Sharks Leagues Club (unless informed otherwise by staff), with the Academy kit to include a 67 Crew jacket and 67 Crew shirt.
Dancers must be between 12-16 years of age and have prior experience at an intermediate or advanced level.
Places in the 67 Crew Academy are strictly limited.
