Scott Morrison, the local member for Cook and the Sharks number one ticket holder, has been selected as Prime Minister of Australia at a Liberal party room meeting today.
An avid Sharks fan who has attended numerous games at Southern Cross Group Stadium throughout the 2018 season, Morrison was also staunch in his support of the Cronulla club during their Premiership winning season of 2016.
On behalf of the Club, Sharks Chairman Dino Mezzatesta congratulated Mr Morrison on his appointment.
"Scott has been a long-time supporter of our club, a regular at many of our games and an outstanding advocate for our local community," Mezzatesta said.
"We are delighted we can now call our number one ticket holder the Prime Minister of Australia. We feel honoured that he chooses to be associated with our club and offer our sincere congratulations on his appointment."
Formerly the Federal Treasurer, Morrison was elevated to the highest office in the country today, becoming the 30th Prime Minister of Australia.
