They couldn't quite get the job done against the table-topping Blacktown Workers Manly Sea Eagles last weekend, however the Newtown Jets get their chance to bounce back when they take on the Penrith Panthers on Saturday in a round four Intrust Super Premiership match.
The Jets battled back after a slow start last Sunday, getting to within four points of their opponents, but in the end run the Eagles proved too good, leaving Newtown on two points after one win and two losses over the first three weeks of the ISP competition.
This week the Jets team will be bolstered by the inclusion of props Braden Uele and Kurt Dillon, while local Sharks junior Jack Williams returns to the team at five eighth after missing the match against the Sea Eagles.
The Jets play a Panthers side which has won two of its three games so far.
The ISP match, which kicks off at 1.00pm on Saturday, will be televised live on free-to-air on Channel 9.
