In a much-improved performance last Thursday night the Newtown Jets got their season off and running with a solid 24-12 victory over St George Illawarra.
After going down to the Wyong Roos to an 80th minute field goal in week one, the win over the Dragons saw the Jets climb to fourth on the Intrust Super Premiership table despite having been successful in just one of their two games played to date.
Only two teams remain undefeated through the opening two weeks of the ISP competition, with the Jets opponents this Sunday, the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles, having registered a win and a draw to sit third on the table and one point ahead of the Newtown team.
The match this weekend will be played at the HE Laybutt Field in Blacktown, kicking off at 3.00pm on Sunday.
The Newtown team, which contains a handful of Sharks-contracted players including Trent Hodkinson and Kyle Flanagan, playing their first games in Jets colours, is listed below.
