Almost 1900 dancers will front and centre at Southern Cross Group Stadium on Saturday night as part of the Cronulla Sharks’ exciting Dance Spectacular half time show.
The Sharks hosted an extremely successful Dance Spectacular in 2016, with 900 dancers from 19 dance schools participating in the sensational event, with this year’s event set to be bigger and better as twice as many schools and dancers unite in one thrilling performance.
Head Choreographer of the Cronulla Sharks Mermaids, Jacqueline Elliott from JLD Entertainment, expressed her excitement in the lead up to the event.
“This is the biggest spectacular we have ever held at Sharks, we have over 170 teachers and assistants working on this event from 39 schools,” Elliot said.
This year, in a Cronulla Sharks first Elliott invited dance schools based outside the Sutherland Shire to participate in Dance Spectacular, with the event to feature schools hailing from as far away as Pennant Hills, Castle Hill and even Rockhampton in Queensland.
A whopping 32 dance groups, including the Cronulla Sharks 67 Kids Crew, and seven baton twirling clubs will come together on Saturday night to raise the roof at half time.
Elliott is looking forward to the night and is confident that everyone involved is ready to bring it.
“This has been a huge project to work on and I cannot wait to see it come to life out there on the night,” said Elliott.
“This year’s dance track is Let’s Get Loud, and it sure is going to be loud!”
