A strong first half performance has seen the Sharks claim victory over the Glenmore Park Brumbies in the Women’s Series Match played at Southern Cross Group Stadium.

The Sharks women had a little too much class against a brave Brumbies side as they crossed for three tries in a 16-0 win.

While the Sharks lost the ball over the line in their first set with the football, it didn’t take them long to post points shortly after, Maddie Studdon slicing through to touch down under the posts.

Studdon converted her own try to make it 6-0.

The Brumbies managed to settle into the game and threatened at the Sharks end but after turning their opponents away went on the attack once again and it was centre Shontelle Stowers who showed good strength to get the ball down and make it 10-0.

Studden failed to convert from wide out but she was in the game again soon after, scoring a second try on the stroke of half time to extend their lead to 16-0.

The second half was more evenly matched, with neither side able to trouble the scorers.

The Sharks women have now notched three wins and one loss from four matches played in 2017.
