In building on the success of the inaugural Sharks Women’s NRL Nines team, nominations are now being accepted for those players interested in trialling for Sharks open age and under 18’s teams for the 2017 season.
In a ground-breaking event, the Sharks Women’s Nines played the Dragons in front of a capacity crowd at Southern Cross Group Stadium, with the game held as a curtain raiser to the round 25 NRL match against the Roosters.
The match featured an exciting finish, the Sharks scoring a long range try to claim a win on the fulltime siren, with the game proving to be a wonderful spectacle and an outstanding advertisement for women’s rugby league.
In continuing to be leaders in the promotion and development of the women’s game, the Cronulla Sharks are seeking player nominations to trial for our WNRL Nines (17+ in 2017) and Tarsha Gale 9’s (16-18 years in 2017) teams for the 2017 season.
The trials are scheduled for Sunday, November 13 (Dates are subject to change), at the Cronulla Sharks Academy fields (Cronulla High School).
Players interested in representing the Sharks in 2017 are encouraged to nominate, however trials for all teams will be by invitation only. Players are asked to accurately fill out the online form.
Those players successful in gaining a trial will be contacted with more information including a kick off time for the trial game and what is required both at the trial and during the respective seasons.
