Despite being a late call up to the squad Ricky Leutele will join Sam Tagataese in the Toa Samoa team to play England in the Four Nations opener on Saturday.
To be played at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, the pair are members of a strong Samoa 17, one which will fancy their chances of pushing the fancied England side.
Not originally chosen in the 23-man Samoan squad Leutele was a late call up, with his selected recognition of his strong 2014 season for the Sharks.
Toa Samoa coach Matt Parish has named a team featuring a wealth of NRL experience to face England, with Tagataese joined by David Fa’alogo in the front row, Leutele to be partnered in the centres by Newcastle Knight Joey Leilua.
Penani Manumalealii, outstanding for Samoa when they defeated Tonga earlier in the year to qualify for the Four Nations, has not been selected with Ben Robert and Kyle Stanley preferred in the halves.
The match against England will be one game of a double header, with Australia to plat New Zealand in the other Four Nations clash on Saturday, October 25.
Sosaia Feki is a member of the extended New Zealand squad but he has not been selected to the first round match, while with the unavailability of Paul Gallen, Luke Lewis and Andrew Fifita no Sharks players will turn out for Australia during the tournament.
