Sharks skipper Paul Gallen will lead the NSW team out against Queensland for the 100th State of Origin match after the Blues team was announced today.
Gallen will be joined in the NSW side by Sharks teammate Luke Lewis, with the pair experienced members of a NSW team intent on winning back the Origin shield after eight years of Queensland dominance.
The game will be Gallen's 17th NSW, while Lewis will play his 15th match for the Blues.
Andrew Fifita, who was a member of the 2013 NSW squad, was unavailable for selection due to injury.
Coach Laurie Daley and the NSW selectors have come up with a team featuring a mix of youth and experience, with Bulldogs halfback Trent Hodkinson set to make his State of Origin debut.
Rangy winger Daniel Tupou from the Sydney Roosters has also been selected for his first State of Origin match.
The NSW Origin team for game one of the series, to be played at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, next Wednesday, May 28, is as follows;
