It was an important victory for the Sharks and a win built on courage, with injuries and adversity again playing a role in the match against the Panthers.
Two of the best for the Sharks however in the win were fullback Michael Gordon and half Jeff Robson.
Gordon was in the thick of the action all afternoon and turned the tide of the game with a spectacular try scored from a pin-point Robson bomb.
As for his halfback, Robson was forced to take on extra responsibility when his halves partner Todd Carney was forced from the field with a hamstring strain in just the 16th minute of the match. As he has been able to do since returning from injury earlier in the year, he Robson played his role to a high standard in steering the team around the field.
