Apply now for girls Winter Academy

On the back of a successful junior representative season, the Sharks are now accepting applications for players and staff keen to participate in the 2024 girls Winter Academy program.

Open to those registered and playing for Cronulla-Sutherland District Junior League clubs, the girls Winter Academy will include squads in the under 14s, 16s and 18s age groups. The program is an important aspect of the Sharks women's pathway system, with a focus on identifying and nurturing local talent.

It follows the recently concluded NSWRL junior representative season where the under-19 Tarsha Gale Sharks fell one game short of the grand final and the under-17 Lisa Fiaola team developed considerably in their first season.

Those chosen for the Winter Academy will take part in a training block and games. Trials will be held at Woolooware High School on Tuesday, June 4; applications close on Sunday, May 26. Applicants will be emailed with more information.

Triallists should be ready to train and bring suitable attire including boots and a mouthguard as there will be a tackling component. If needed, strapping should be done before the session. Players successful in being selected for the Winter Academy will again be contacted via email ahead of training kicking off on Monday, June 17.

Staff roles include coaches, sports trainer, physiotherapist, equipment coordinator and team manager. See the link at the bottom of the page to apply.

Trial dates and times are as follows. For any questions regarding the girls Winter Academy, please contact Jack Gould – [email protected].

League Tag players are welcome to apply.
